This is a harrowing and sometimes brutal account of how one boy, half black and half white, grew up in an atmosphere of racial bullying in an elite private school in Maryland. Sadly, the young man was also rejected by his mother's white family, who were deeply hostile to him and his Nigerian father. This is a must read for anyone who believes we live in a society where race doesn't matter or that affluent communities are free of racism."
